Clouded Thought

In this painting i wanted to reflect that sometimes it takes alot of different thoughts, choices and actions to achieve what i wanted. Even if sometimes the path isn't always clear, it is the end result that matters.

Coloured Leaves

This painting was inspired by my scratchback "Leaves" and my love for the sunrise colours. So this is the end result of my efforts to combine them both.

A Mother and Her Girls

These pots reflect my life with my daughters. The large pot represents me. The pot is partially glazed as I wanted it to demonstrate the partial revelations of my life, past, present and also family histories. It's texture is rough which represents life's experiences, both good and bad. The colours are earthy, to represent the women Elders. The design on these pots are a relection of my Indigenous heritage. The two smaller pots represents my two daughters and are similar in design. They are both glazed and this was done to reflect the innocence of childhood.

Twilight

This painting was inspired by the love i have for nature, and the calm that i have found within myself.

In this painting the sunrise was done to reflects the calm felt, and also the start or something new to come. The landscape is to represents change and personal growth not only within myself but also with my three children.

Soaring

This painting was inspired by my son Cephas after a bad experience he had been through at school. After speaking of what had happened he decided to let his anger go and rise above what had happened.

I used the sunset to reflect how at peace he had felt after talking about it. The landscape reflects change in himself and the people around him. Lastly, I added two birds to represent Cephas and myself soaring above the troubles he faced and dealt with so beautifully.
